We had a 5.8 quake here in socal that rocked the office. First, here is a picture from the OC Register, with this caption:

A dog walks through a coned-off portion of the street as a leaking water main is worked on at the intersection of City Terrace Drive and Eastern Avenue in East Los Angeles.

Does anyone else find this to be ridiculous?
On with the story.

I was trying to conduct a production meeting and when it hit everyone paused and looked at each other across the table, feeling it out. This is what we do in cali – we don’t immediately scream and dive under tables. We only do that once we KNOW it’s bad.

So we just pause…… then a particularly large jerk swings the room and we simultaneously decide in our brains: EARTHQUAKE IS NOW LARGE. DUCK AND COVER.And we hit the ground under the table. All except Joe. He sat in his chair – probably designing a web site on his Macbook. He is HARD CORE.

Him: did you FEEL THAT!?!?!?!?!

Me: lol
Me: did you duck and cover
Him: and screamed like a little girl
